Oakwood is an imposing Victorian house built in 1861, standing in its own grounds, surrounded by countryside of outstanding beauty.
Oakwood Park is situated on the northern side of the little town of Brampton, 10 miles east of Carlisle.
The hotel is approached through the original gateway from the Longtown Road. The grounds which surround the hotel, amounting to 10 acres, are pastures and woods. Here livestock, which are all pets, are free to roam.

Oakwood has a fascinating history which can be felt on entering the house. It has kept its Victorian appearance inside and out.
The rooms comprise of 1 single, 1 twin, 1 double and 1 family room.All rooms are en-suite, fully central-heated, with the provision of a collection of convenient items.

Excellent food is served from an extensive menu, with everything home made.
Vegetables and fruit are grown in the vegetable garden, which, in keeping with the house, has retained its box hedging.

Oakwood is a very convenient centre for visiting the beautiful English Lakes and the peaceful hills of the Borders and Southern Scotland.
While staying at Oakwood you could, if feeling adventurous, walk a section of the fascinating Hadrian's Wall, which is only 2 miles away by car. Or you could take numerous country walks surrounding the Hotel, some of which will lead you to the Wall itself.
The Hotel is open from March to November inclusive.

Cartmel Holiday Cottages have 2 secluded two-bedroom non-smoking cottages, one in its own grounds and one with walled garden in the quiet of Cartmel valley.

Woodland Cottage was a farmworker's cottage refurbished to a high standard; alone in farmland – surrounded by fields – with large walled garden and panoramic views to the south of Cartmel valley and Hampsfell to the east.

Broughton Bank Cottage was a derelict Lakeland cottage, now completely renovated, hidden in a wooded garden above a tranquil pond.

There are tables in both gardens for dining outside: Broughton Bank Cottage has a bedrock bench and a slate stone table. Both cottages have been designed with high standards and sustainable principles in mind to ensure a fully relaxed stay.

Woodland Cottage's living area has an open fireplace while Broughton Bank has a wood burner (logs supplied) and there are two comfy sofas in each cottage. Being open plan, it's a cosy and accessible place to live in comfort. Both cottages have TV and DVD players, washer–driers and freezers.

Broughton Bank Cottage is on three levels with two flights of stairs, giving more privacy to each bedroom, and has two bathrooms.
Woodland Cottage has no stairs to negotiate and, being accessed directly from the parking area beside the building, is excellent on mobility issues: one 9 inch doorstep to the back door; smallest door is 27¾ inches wide.

Both cottages are personally maintained by the owners living nearby.
Bedrooms are furnished with character.
Each cottage has one double bed and two single beds, full central heating and hot water and a super full mains pressure shower and bath.
Broughton Bank Cottage's heating comes from 'green' ground source.
WiFi in both cottages
Cot and high chair available on request.
Deliveries (e.g. supermarket food deliveries) accepted by arrangement.

Lettings run from Friday, Monday or Tuesday for a minimum of 3 nights, though changeover days can be more flexible during quieter periods.
Well behaved pets are welcome at a small charge.

Our superb detached residence is set just above romantic Grasmere and boasts exceptional views of the fells and a super panoramic of Grasmere lake. Just a mile from the village centre, Langthwaite sits on Red Bank, known locally as ‘the walkers thoroughfare', the route, along the side of Grasmere lake frequented by many walkers on their way from Grasmere over the tops to the Langdale Valley.

Elegantly presented and lavishly dressed with great style and flair. Each room offers the same luxury as the next and enjoys either a lake or garden view. A huge glass fronted balcony at the front of the house gives way to magnificent views of Grasmere and not forgetting the well-manicured, tiered  gardens to the rear, complete with small waterfall and pond, discretely lit in the evening, perfect for pre-dinner drinks or enjoying breakfast on the terrace.
